Today was the day!

Colemans Hill Farm two days before demolition starts
It was barely light when the demolition team arrived on site complete with a pristine new Merlo telehandler.  An hour or so later Chris Smith (“batman”)was taken up in the Merlo cage to check whether the bat he had seen enter the roof back in May was still there (it wasn’t) and to advise on the course of action should any be found during removal of the tiles.

First stage: removing roof tiles from Eastern elevation
Nigel and I continued to carefully remove topsoil from the build area and transfer it to the lower garden area for redistribution later.
Levelling site for new foundations
By the end of the day most of the tiles had been removed and were heading for Winchcombe Reclamation and we had almost levelled the foundation area ready for pegging out the floor slab. Negotiations continue with three possible contractors to install the highly insulated passive slab.
