All oak frames are now place in except for the very large window
for the living room. This and the sun
room are waiting for the tiling to be completed so that scaffolding can be
removed to allow access.
Matt has started capping the roof tiles and Steve and Debbie have been detailing the dormers, adding fascia and barge boards, cladding
the garage and installing guttering; this all take time and insulation goes on day
after day – seemingly endless – but absolutely essential for a low/zero energy
building . Progress often seems a little
slow but all these are essential parts of the build.
Ducting for the Mechanical Heat Recovery System (MVHR) is complete
and the two Vent Axia units will be fitted in the next few days. First fix electrics are now well underway, plumbing begins next week and a local joinery company has started constructing the windows.
Martin and Stuart seen here working on the chimney have almost finished the brickwork and are currently working on a brick fireplace.
We have started to erect the stunning oak porch which is so
much larger than we expected.
